“ABACUS” system of calculation is an ancient and proven system of doing calculations. It is an excellent concept that provides for overall “Mental Development of a child” while teaching the basics of big four (Addition, Subtraction, multiplication and Division) of arithmetic.
“ABACI” is based on ABACUS system of calculations with all the advantages of ABACUS based program. The program is designed to teach the Big Four of arithmetic on abacus system keeping in mind the practicality of the numbers. The program INCORPORATES “REAL WORLD WORD PROBLEMS”. The students get an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills to school system and learn school curriculum effectively.
The program is based on training to manipulate the beads on ABACUS. As the beads represent the numbers it helps the students to understand the number concept by viewing a picture that is transformed in to a number.
Abacus contains rods that are specified for unit, tens, hundreds and so on as it moves from right to left from a center point and for decimal moving to right. The picture concept helps the student to learn the place value and number concept by combining position of beads on several rods. It improves eye, mind and hand coordination. The concept redefines math from traditional hand calculating techniques. These improved skills also help the student in other areas of education.
The program starts from basic addition and subtraction. As the students get comfortable, the “Mental Math” concept is introduced to students. Students are asked to imagine the “ABACUS” in their mind and manipulate the beads as being done on “ABACUS Tool”. This process helps the child to develop “MULTIPLE SKILLS” like photographic memory, improved imagination, enhanced observation skills, total concentration and, exceptional analytical skills. It ultimately, helps the child to restore self reliance and confidence and removes the fear of math.
We continue to teach combinations of beads to perfect addition and subtraction concept. These combinations are based on logical approach and subsequently students become pro active to figure out the concept. This is improving their “LOGICAL THINKING”. We continue to follow with the Mental Abacus. Number of rows and digits increase gradually and multiplication and division concepts are introduced as the program progresses.
As next stage Real Life World problems are introduced. Students are able to visualize the problem as a picture in their mind for effective calculations.
The ABACUS Mental Math training is linked to basic school curriculum for easy transition of skills developed in the ABACUS program to daily school math.
ABACUS program, gives the child a “special edge” to develop “LIFETIME SKILLS” at an early age. These “skills” outpace those who have not received the training. The improved performance from an early age restores a confidence level that improves with every success and, ultimately “SUCCEEDING BECOMES A HABIT”.
The program is run by trained instructors who have passion for the program and believe in it. There is no repetition as students are learning new concept regularly and keep their interest in the program. The program is self paced and avoids frustration and stress. IT’S A FUN PROGRAM.

PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY
Concept of thinking in picture helps the child to remember right things at right time by flashing a picture of incidence in mind. This skill not only helps in Arithmetic, but in all subject and activities the child will perform.

This program is all about speed and accuracy through regular practice. As the child moves along the levels of the program consistency, speed and accuracy improves.
